Tính từ

Vị trí tính từ, hậu tố, và dạng so sánh hơn/nhất trong ngữ cảnh TOEFL.

Tính từ mô tả hoặc bổ nghĩa cho danh từ.

Vị trí:

Trước danh từ: a *significant* increase (sự tăng đáng kể)

Sau động từ liên kết (be, seem, become): The results are *impressive*. (Kết quả ấn tượng.)

Hậu tố tính từ thường gặp trong TOEFL:

-able/-ible	available (có sẵn), responsible (có trách nhiệm)
-ful	successful (thành công), helpful (hữu ích)
-ive	effective (hiệu quả), competitive (cạnh tranh)
-ous	various (đa dạng), numerous (nhiều)
-al	additional (bổ sung), financial (tài chính)
-ent/-ant	different (khác), significant (quan trọng)

So sánh hơn & So sánh nhất:

Tính từ ngắn: -er / -est (faster, fastest)

Tính từ dài: more / most (more efficient, most efficient)

Bất quy tắc: good → better → best, bad → worse → worst

Examples

The new policy is highly effective. — 새 정책은 매우 효과적이다.
This is the most competitive market in Asia. — 이것은 아시아에서 가장 경쟁이 치열한 시장이다.

TOEFL Tip:

If the blank is between an article/possessive and a noun, you need an adjective.
