Examples:

  • Employees *who* complete the training will receive a certificate.
  • The building *where* the conference is held is downtown.
  • The report, *which* was submitted yesterday, needs revision.
  • Restrictive vs Non-restrictive:

  • Restrictive (no commas): essential info → The person *who* called is my manager.
  • Non-restrictive (commas): extra info → Mr. Lee, *who* is our CEO, will attend.
  • Examples

    TOEFL Tip:

    After a person noun, use "who". After a thing noun, use "which" or "that".
