Pronouns

Subject, object, possessive, and reflexive pronouns — one of the most tested areas in TOEFL.

Key Rules:

  • Subject pronouns come before verbs: *She* manages the team.
  • Object pronouns come after verbs/prepositions: Give it to *him*.
  • Possessive adjectives come before nouns: *Their* proposal was accepted.
  • Reflexive pronouns are used when subject = object: He introduced *himself*.
