Time, place, and direction prepositions plus common prepositional phrases in TOEFL.

Time Prepositions:

  • at: at 3 o'clock, at noon, at night
  • on: on Monday, on July 4th, on the weekend
  • in: in the morning, in 2024, in summer
  • by: by Friday (= no later than)
  • until: until 5 PM (= continuously to that time)
  • for: for three hours (duration)
  • during: during the meeting (within a period)
  • Place Prepositions:

  • at: at the office, at the airport
  • in: in the building, in Seoul
  • on: on the table, on the second floor
