過去時制

過去形・過去進行形・過去完了形をマスターします。

過去形： 過去に完了した行動

  • The meeting *ended* at 5 PM.（会議は午後5時に終わった。）

    • 過去進行形（was/were + V-ing）： 過去に進行中だった行動

  • She *was preparing* the report when the client called.（クライアントが電話した時、彼女は報告書を準備していた。）

    • 過去完了形（had + 過去分詞）： 別の過去の出来事より前に完了した行動

  • By the time we arrived, the presentation *had already started*.（私たちが到着した時、プレゼンはすでに始まっていた。）

    • 時間表現：

  • 過去形：yesterday, last week, ago, in 2020
  • 過去完了形：by the time, before, after, already（過去の文脈で）
