단순과거, 과거진행, 과거완료를 학습합니다.

단순과거: 과거에 완료된 행동

The meeting *ended* at 5 PM. (회의가 오후 5시에 끝났다.)

과거진행 (was/were + V-ing): 과거에 진행 중이던 행동

She *was preparing* the report when the client called. (클라이언트가 전화했을 때 그녀는 보고서를 준비하고 있었다.)

과거완료 (had + 과거분사): 다른 과거 사건 전에 완료된 행동

By the time we arrived, the presentation *had already started*. (우리가 도착했을 때 발표는 이미 시작되었었다.)

단순과거: yesterday, last week, ago, in 2020

과거완료: by the time, before, after, already (과거 맥락)

Examples

The company had already relocated before the announcement was made. — 발표가 나기 전에 회사는 이미 이전했었다.
