Future Tenses

Will, be going to, and future perfect — expressing future actions in business English.

Simple Future (will + V): decisions, predictions, promises

  • The CEO *will announce* the results tomorrow.
  • Be going to + V: planned intentions

  • We *are going to launch* the product next month.
  • Future Perfect (will have + p.p.): actions completed before a future point

  • By December, they *will have finished* the construction.
  • In TOEFL: Time clauses use present tense for future:

  • When the report *is* ready, I will send it. (NOT *will be*)
  • Examples

    TOEFL Tip:

In time/condition clauses (when, if, before, after), use present tense even for future meaning.
